Adults only
Gather Whirl is intended only for people age 18 and older. You must be 18 or older to enter the site, host or join a live room, or submit an answer, drawing, story, team name, or other content. Do not enter personal information about anyone under 18. If we learn that information was submitted by or about a person under 18, contact hello@gatherwhirl.com so we can review a removal request.
Age confirmation
Your confirmation that you are 18 or older is stored in this browser so the entry notice does not appear on every visit. It is a browser preference, not an identity check or account. Clearing this site’s browser data removes it.
What stays in your browser
Theme choices, saved activities, invitation and card drafts, countdown preferences, and recent live-room access tokens are kept in your browser’s local storage. The card editor and planner create downloads on your device. Their draft text is not uploaded by those tools. A temporary browser-session handoff can carry event details from the planner to the card editor.
You can delete a card or planner draft using its Delete saved draft button. To remove all site-saved settings, favorites, recent room access, and age confirmation from this browser, clear this site’s data in your browser settings. Anyone using the same browser profile may be able to see saved drafts or rejoin a recent room while it exists.
Live rooms
When you host or join a live game, the site sends the room title, settings, chosen team name and icon, answers, game contributions such as drawings or story text, scores, and reactions needed to run the room to the site’s Cloudflare Worker. The Worker stores room state in a Cloudflare Durable Object. Room access uses a randomly generated token saved on your device. A room expires and its stored game state is deleted after approximately 24 hours; recent-room entries are removed from this browser when the live-games page confirms their rooms are gone. People with a room code and access may see game contributions and scores during play. Avoid entering private or sensitive information.
Hosting and technical data
Cloudflare serves the website and room service. As with ordinary website hosting, Cloudflare may process technical request information such as IP address, browser details, and security data under its own service practices. The site code does not currently add a separate analytics tracker or advertising cookie.
Sharing and downloads
Sharing an invitation or result card uses your device’s share or download options. You choose where to send it. A room code or invitation that you share with someone else can then be accessed or forwarded by them.
Advertising changes
We are preparing the site for possible future advertising. Ads are not active in this version. Before enabling them, this notice will be updated to explain advertising cookies, Google’s use of data, your choices, and any applicable consent controls. We will not silently treat the present no-ad experience as consent to future ad tracking.
Questions or removal requests
Email hello@gatherwhirl.com. For an active live room, include its six-character room code but do not send your access token or private answers. Browser-only drafts can be removed directly on your device.
